Suwon, Happy City

Happy City: Suwon’s official tag line. Nestled right outside of Seoul, this “Village” was a great day trip. Its population buzzes somewhere around a million. Suwon’s main attraction is the Hwaseong Fortress. 3.57 miles (5.74 km), enclosing roughly half a square mile of land, the wall’s height varies between 13-20 ft (4-6 meters). Within the fortress lay the remains of Prince Sado and King Jeongjo’s (Sado’s son) palace. Prince Sado was killed by his father by being locked up in a rice chest since Sado wouldn’t commit suicide upon his father’s request/command.

Columbia ad? Maybe...

Archery is HUGE in Korea. They often medal in the Olympics. We decided to give it a shot and while we didn't fair as well as our teachers, we didn't bring shame on our family :)

Sooooooo, feel free to say no to me. Really, feel free to say no. For example, if I see something way up high, zoom in with my camera and say, "Hey! Let's go there!!!" Feel free to say, "No Anna. Let's not."

We hiked up to the city tip top view. It was incredible and awesome, and took our breath away. We'll need to run a little more now.
